WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — The fourth annual Warren Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 34 Golf Scramble was held at Northwood Golf Course on Saturday.

Every year, the Warren FOP #34 gives to kids in need. This year’s event benefited Frankie Placanica, a Lakeview student who suffered a head injury earlier this year at track practice.

“Everyone knows that he was the kid that was at Lakeview High School that got into an unfortunate accident getting hit in the head with a discus. He’s had a skull fracture, a couple brain bleeds. He lost his hearing in his right ear. So, now we’re just going to give the money and the proceeds — 100% of the proceeds are going to him and his family,” said Brian Crites, treasurer of Warren FOP #34.

The event was $75 a person and $300 per team to participate. The Warren FOP #34 is still accepting donations made out to Placanica.
