Court hearing on Steward Health facilities this week

(WKBN) — A court hearing will be held this week to review the agreement that would keep Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital open.

The hearing is set for Tuesday in Texas.

The settlement was announced last week between Steward Health and its landlord Medical Properties Trust (MPT).

The agreement resolves billions of dollars in lease obligations and allows MPT to take over existing operations. MPT will work with potential buyers for the facilities while Steward focuses on paying off its debt.

This all comes after Steward Health Care filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May .
