WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Hospital officials told police that cocaine was found in a baby’s system in Warren this past Thursday.

Warren police responded to a child endangering report at St. Joseph’s Hospital shortly after 6 a.m.

According to a police report, the baby’s father said he dropped his 7-month-old daughter off at his mother’s house the night before and picked her up 30 minutes later. As he was driving home, he said the child began having body tremors in the car. The father took the child home and he and his wife decided to have her checked out at the hospital, the report stated.

The baby was scheduled to be transferred to Akron Children’s Hospital after traces of cocaine were found in her system, according to the police report. The child’s parents called police and were given instructions to contact the Trumbull County Prosecutor.

Police currently have two suspects, and an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
