HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has proposed the installation of a new traffic signal in Howland Township.

The signal would be installed at the intersection of State Route 46 and Howland Springs Road. No right-of-way is anticipated for this project.

The proposed project is currently in the engineering phase. Construction is now scheduled to begin in the fall of 2025.

During construction, two-way traffic is expected to be maintained, and no lane closures will be permitted between the hours of 6 and 9 a.m. and 4 and 6 p.m. on weekdays, according to ODOT. Any traffic stoppages will be less than 10 minutes at a time.

Lane restrictions and/or traffic stoppage information will be posted before any restrictions at the respective locations. Access will be maintained to businesses and properties in the area.

ODOT is accepting public comments on the project. Comments and questions can be directed to Sean Carpenter at  330-786-2274 or sean.carpenter@dot.ohio.gov .

Comments received by October 9, 2024, will be considered during project development, but all comments received will receive a reply, according to ODOT.
