GREENVILLE, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Pirates Charities and Allegheny Health Network (AHN) work together to tackle the ongoing mental health crisis in the region.

They were at Greenville Elementary School Monday. This is the second year the school has teamed up with AHN and Chill Mobile.

Principal Beth Schaller says they have seen more and more kids struggling with anxiety and coping skills since the pandemic. The Chill Mobile, along with other initiatives, has become an essential learning opportunity in the classroom and at home.

“It’s that opportunity for the students to be able to use their words. When they stay calm, good things happen and when they get all frustrated, that’s when things get a little muddy,” Schaller said.

Greenville Elementary will have Chill Mobile all this week, again in the winter and one more time in the spring.

Schaller also says the guidance counselors help continue mental health awareness by doing mindful Mondays and other activities.
