Man charged after threatening to shoot women in car: Report

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man is facing numerous charges after reports state he held two women, along with children, in a vehicle and threatened to shoot them.

Just after 7 p.m. Friday, Warren police were advised that a female caller was on the line whispering to dispatch from a vehicle where she and a friend were being held by Jamir Fudge, who she told authorities had a gun.

Police were able to locate the vehicle in a parking lot in the 700 block of East Market Street, where they discovered Fudge had fled on foot and was found in the 500 block of East Market Street, where he was taken into custody.

One of the victims told police she and Fudge got into an argument, which caused him to drive erratically, reports state. The victims advised Fudge to drive safer due to multiple children in the vehicle, at which point he threatened to shoot them, according to reports.

Eight bullets were found in Fudge’s pocket at the time of his arrest, and reports did not reflect that a firearm was found on his person.

Records show Fudge is charged with aggravated menacing, unlawful restraint, obstructing official business and domestic violence. He was arraigned Monday before Judge Patricia Knepp where he entered a not-guilty plea. He is set to return to court Sept. 16.

Court records show Fudge was also indicted on two felony charges of domestic violence in the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas for a July incident. He has a court date for that case on Wednesday.
