HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — For the last 75 years, the Raymond John Wean Foundation has been providing philanthropic assistance to the community.

On Tuesday, leaders with the Foundation invited the community for a celebration at the Grand Resort in Howland.

They held a number of sessions gathering input on how to encourage what leaders say is more equitable compensation among employers across the Mahoning Valley.

“It’s far beyond fair pay; it includes benefits, not just healthcare but child care and retirement savings and time off,” Wean Foundation President Jennifer Roller said. “And really being able to enjoy the task and being compensated for it fairly.”

Monday’s discussions brought together local residents, civic and social service agencies, and government leaders.

Organizers say they will take what they’ve learned today to help them with future philanthropic efforts in the Valley.
