YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police were on the scene of an accident near South Avenue and Wilbur that caused a power outage on Youngstown’s south side Tuesday night.

First News learned there was a power outage on South Avenue around 9 p.m. FirstEnergy was on the scene in addition to police.

Police did not confirm whether the crash and power outage were related but FirstEnergy’s website says the cause of the power outage in the area was a vehicle accident.

There were reports that traffic lights were also out along South Avenue.

Power has been restored, according to FirstEnergy.
