Search for missing kayaker in Ohio underway

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The U.S. Coast Guard has confirmed that a search is underway for a missing kayaker in Cleveland Wednesday morning.

According to the Coast Guard, the kayaker is a 45-year-old man missing near Merwin’s Wharf on the Cuyahoga River.

He was last seen around 10 p.m. in a blue-green kayak.

His vehicle was found in the parking lot.

A search of the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie is now underway by the Cleveland MetroParks Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Ohio Department Of Natural Resources.
