    Browns lose four players to injured reserve list

    BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cleveland Browns placed four players on injured reserve, signed four players to the active roster, and added three players to the practice squad in a flurry of roster moves on Wednesday.

    Placed on reserve/injured (4):
    LB Mohamoud Diabate (hip)
    LB Tony Fields II (ankle)
    DT Maurice Hurst II (ankle)
    S Juan Thornhill (calf)
    Note: Each of these four players will miss at least four games, but could be designated to return this season.

    Signed to active roster (4):
    WR David Bell (from practice squad)
    CB Mike Ford Jr. (from practice squad)
    LB Khaleke Hudson (from Saints’ practice squad)
    DT Sam Kamara (from practice squad)

    Signed to practice squad (3):
    DT Siaki Ika
    TE Geoff Swaim
    LB Luji Vilain

    Originally selected by the Browns in the third round in 2022 out of Purdue, Bell has appeared in 31 games and recorded 38 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns.

    Ford is back with the Browns after spending training camp with Houston. After being released by the Texans, he re-signed with Cleveland. Last season he appeared in 16 games with Cleveland and recorded 19 tackles and one interception on defense, while finishing second on the team with nine special teams tackles. He has appeared in 78 career games with the Lions (2018-20), Broncos (2021), Falcons (2022) and Browns (2023-24).

    Hudson was signed off the practice squad of the New Orleans Saints. He is in his fifth NFL season out of Michigan. Originally drafted by the Commanders in the fifth round in 2020, Hudson has appeared in 59 career games with 12 starts. He has recorded 90 career tackles and one sack. He appeared in Week 1 this season with the Saints.

    Kamara has appeared in 11 career games, including three games with the Browns from 2022-23.

    Ika returns to Cleveland after being waived at the end of training camp. He was originally selected by the Browns in the third round in 2023, and appeared in four games as a rookie.

    Swaim has appeared in 100 career games with 65 starts with the Cowboys (2015-18), Jaguars (2019), Titans (2020-22) and Cardinals (2023). He has recorded 110 career receptions for 846 yards and six touchdowns.

    Vilain originally signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of Wake Forest. He has has appeared in five career games with the Vikings (2022-23) and Panthers (2023).
