Retailer launches seasonal hiring push

(WKBN) — The holidays are just around the corner, and many retailers are looking to add staff for the increase in shoppers.

Burlington announced Wednesday that it launched a nationwide hiring initiative where all stores and distribution centers will be conducting interviews leading up to nationwide hiring events on Sept. 24-25 and Oct. 29-30, and continuing through December.

The retailer plans to add 23,000 part-time, seasonal workers at its stores nationwide for the following positions: cashier, retail associate and stocking associate. About 1,500 full-time warehouse workers will be hired.

Locally, Burlington operates stores in Howland and Boardman. There are no distribution centers in the area.
