    Local fire departments help to put out large fire

    DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Fire departments from Mahoning County responded to a fire Wednesday that led to thick, black smoke throughout the area.

    The fire destroyed a home on Pearl Drive. According to the Deerfield Fire Department, the home is a total loss.

    Firefighters were called out to the fire at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday.

    Several Mahoning and Portage County fire departments were on the scene, as well as departments from Stark County.

    A dog is still missing, but no one was hurt in the fire.

    A viewer sent WKBN a video showing smoking in the area.
