BEAVER, Ohio (WKBN) – A Slippery Rock woman is facing a felonious assault charge following an altercation with a man.

Police were called in July to a home on Market Street in Beaver Township on reports of a domestic dispute. When officers arrived, they encountered the man who said that 66-year-old Deborah Pantone, came over to “talk” and when he let her inside, an argument ensued. Pantone, who the man said was a former kickboxer and knew how to fight, hit him with a closed fist, according to a police report.

At the time, the man refused to be transported to the hospital for his injuries, but two days later, he had to be medically treated and it was determined that he suffered “serious injury,” but the diagnosis was redacted from the police report.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injury, a warrant was issued for Pantone’s arrest for a felonious assault charge, a second-degree felony.

Pantone turned herself in to police on July 30. She was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury and booked into the Mahoning County Jail on Tuesday and immediately released with a no-contact order for the victim.

A jury trial was scheduled for Nov. 18, but that has been continued. A new court has yet to be entered in the case.

Pantone was also charged with theft for taking alcohol from the victim’s refrigerator, according to the police report.
