Firefighters battle flames at Austintown home

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN)- Firefighters were battling a fire in Austintown Thursday morning.

Crews were called to the intersection of Idlewood Road and Oakwood Avenue shortly before 5 a.m.

Firefighters said the fire caused damage to the front room and roof of the single-story house. The fire chief said that heavy flames were from the front of the house and through the roof on the left-hand side.

Firefighters said that the home was occupied. WKBN is working to find out if anyone was hurt.

Austintown Fire Department was assisted by the Canfield Fire Department. The fire is under investigation.
