Jim Tressel honored during Saturday YSU game

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Former Youngstown State University president Jim Tressel was honored at Saturday’s YSU football game.

During a pause of gameplay, Tressel and his wife Ellen were presented with a Tressel Way street sign. The university voted to rename University Plaza to Tressel Way last month.

Current President Bill Johnson and other YSU officials presented the award.

Jim Tressel served as YSU’s president from 2014 till 2023.
