GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) — Sunday night football is back, and family and friends are gathering to cheer for their favorite NFL teams. One Week Two matchup has a local household facing off.

Corey and Julie Strozier live in Girard with their kids, Niko and Gia. Corey and Niko are Broncos fans, and Julie and Gia are Steelers fans.

With the teams facing off this week, the family is watching together with a friendly rivalry that brings them closer together.

“Just enjoy the fellowship and companionship, and it’s about football, but it’s more about the togetherness,” Corey said. “Hopefully everybody’s 1-1 after today.”

The Stroizers hosted a personal tailgate with grilling and games before kickoff. Friends and family joined them as fans of the Browns, Patriots and the Bills. They have seven TVs in their basement, each one playing a different game.

“Instead of going to maybe a bar atmosphere or things like that, it’s more comfortable here for us. So, we have a lot of people join us so it’s all good,” Corey said.

Corey played football for Youngstown State University on the National Champion team in 1993 and 1994. He says they often go to YSU home games together, and Niko plays flag football for the Broncos.
