NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — The 17th annual Buddy Walk took place at Eastwood Field on Sunday and raised over $150,000 for the Down Syndrome Association of the Valley.

Before the event started, $136,000 was raised and the goal was met during the event.

The “Timmerman Trio” team raised the most money at the walk — over $21,000 to support individuals with Down Syndrome.

“That’s why I’m very enthused very passionate about going out to raise the money because they’re able to help us. They helped us with the children’s glasses, they help us with all of their activities that they do,” Sandee Timmerman said.

The Timmermans say they’re already preparing for next year.
