AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Thousands lost power Monday afternoon in Austintown.

According to FirstEnergy’s website, over 5,000 households are without power.

Austintown police are aware of the issue and are working to restore power. They remind drivers to treat red lights as 4-way stops if traffic lights are out.

The cause is still under investigation. FirstEnergy says crews are being dispatched to assess the outages.

They expect power to be restored by 9 p.m.
