    Pirates promote top-10 prospect to MLB roster

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Pirates are promoting infield prospect Nick Yorke to the Major League roster.

    According to MLB.com, he is ranked at Pittsburgh’s No. 6 overall prospect.

    The 22-year-old was acquired from Boston at the trade deadline in exchange for pitcher Quinn Priester.

    Since being acquired by the Pirates, Yorke has played in 40 games at Triple-A Indianapolis. He is batting .355 with 2 home runs, 17 doubles, 26 RBI’s with 4 stolen bases.

    He was originally selected by Boston in the first round, at No. 17 overall, in the 2020 MLB Draft.
