YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man who pleaded guilty to a charge of vandalism for breaking a glass door at WKBN was sentenced Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to probation.

Jerome Gilmer, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge, a fifth-degree felony, before Judge John Durkin.

As part of his probation, Gilmer will be staying with someone to make sure he takes his medication for mental health issues.

Reports said Gilmer came to the WKBN building on Sunset Drive in Boardman in August 2023 and became upset after he was told he could not go in without an appointment.

He kicked the door several times before breaking the glass and walking away. He was later spotted by Boardman police and taken into custody.
