PITTSBURGH, Pa. (WKBN) – The Pittsburgh Steelers place linebacker Tyler Matakevich on the Reserve/Injured list in a flurry of roster moves on Tuesday.

Matakevich suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s win in Denver.

Pittsburgh also signed cornerback James Pierre and defensive back D’Shawn Jamison to the practice squad and released receiver Shaquan Davis and cornerback Zyon Gilbert from the practice squad.

Pierre was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft out of Florida Atlantic. He has played in 66 career games, with six starts in three seasons. During his time with the Steelers, he has recorded 59 tackles, eight passes defensed, two interceptions and a forced fumble.

He signed with the Washington Commanders this past offseason but was released before the start of the regular season.

Jamison originally signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft.

He was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers and appeared in 15 games for the Panthers in 2023, starting two. He finished the season with five tackles, three of them solo stops, and one pass defensed.

The Steelers host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at 1 p.m. on WKBN-27.
