POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Some of Poland’s most famous and historic homes will be open on Saturday for the public to see.

The Poland Historical Society is hosting the Tour of Homes event with the highlight being the public debut of the newly renovated Inn at the Green — built in 1876.

People can walk through seven homes and the Little Red Schoolhouse — home of the historical society. Also included are the Robert Walker house at Riverside and Main and a home built from a kit sold by the Sears Roebuck Company.

“Two years ago, we made $27,000. It’s amazing how much we have to spend though, just to keep the schoolhouse looking the way it does, to preserve the schoolhouse for Poland’s history,” said Joan Smith, Poland Historial Society.

The oldest house on the tour is the Truesdale-Dill House on Elm Street built in 1837. One house on the tour, though, was built in 1993.

The Poland Tour of Homes is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost is $20.

Tickets can be bought at Aebischer’s Jewelers or Consign and Design. On the day of the event, they’ll be sold at Poland Village Hall.
