Hearing to keep Trumbull Regional, Hillside Hospitals open

(WKBN)- A bankruptcy judge in Texas is giving the final okay to keep Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital open.

The approval came Tuesday during a hearing, which lets Steward Health sever ties with its landlord Medical Properties Trust.

The deal also lets ‘Insight Health System’ provide interim management while it pursues ownership of both hospitals.

In the meantime, Pennsylvania will continue funding operations at Sharon Regional Medical Center through December 1, which is when it’s expected to be purchased by Meadville Medical Center.
