YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man who pleaded guilty to stealing cars during a break-in at a local auto dealership was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison.

Rasheed Roundtree, 23, of Cleveland, received the sentence in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court from Judge Anthony D’Apolito after guilty pleas Aug. 21 to three counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

Roundtree’s sentence will run concurrently with a similar sentence in Cuyahoga County.

Roundtree was arrested in January for his role in the October break-in at a Dodge dealership in Boardman, where three cars were taken.

Police were able to charge Roundtree after a woman who was with him and two others during the break-in pleaded guilty in November to a lesser charge. Assistant Prosecutor Catherine Jones said Tuesday in court that authorities still do not know who the other two men are.

The thefts occurred on Oct. 29, the day after a “Trunk or Treat” event in which employees told police they believed the thieves used as an opportunity to case the dealership. Boardman police said three thieves wearing masks, who appeared to be men, broke in through a window and found the keys to the vehicles. The theft did not trigger an alarm because of a system error.

Roundtree declined to speak before he was sentenced.

Failure to protect your property is part of the problem. Thieves are going to steal simple as that.

Victimless crime. Was an insurance write off for the company. Who cares??? Just my opinion. People get less time for being pedos. 🙄
