McDonald off to best start in school history

NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – McDonald girls volleyball is off to the school’s best start in school history after a (3-0) win at Springfield Tuesday night, Sept. 24.

McDonald won all three sets, (26-24), (27-25), and (25-23).

“The girls are working hard, they’ve earned that record,” said McDonald head volleyball coach Mike Klockner. “But we’re not done yet. We got a lot of volleyball left to play. we just had to focus each day getting better as a team.”

“I think it just shows how hard we work and how much confidence we have, how determined we are,” said senior McDonald volleyball player Gianna Costantino. “We never really give up, we lose sets here and there, but we always push through.”

The Blue Devils have an overall record of (14-0) posting a school record for the best start in program history. The Tigers fall to (10-5) in the loss.

McDonald plays McKinley next on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. Springfield plays Lowellville Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.
