Free Youngstown event celebrates fathers

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Life could be challenging for fathers, especially single dads. Every Friday, it’s Fatherhood Fridays, sponsored by the Fatherhood Coalition of Mahoning Valley.

But this Friday, there’s a smooth jazz performance to help fathers relax at the open house event.

Reverend John-Michael Oliver talked about the services available to dads.

“We will provide education on visitation rights, workforce, financial literacy… and these community resources will be available for fathers and the household,” Oliver said.

The event in downtown Youngstown (139 E. Boardman St.) is free, but organizers ask attendees to register at Eventbrite under the Mahoning Valley Fatherhood Coalition .

The event is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and it’s not just for fathers; everyone is welcome.
