WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Trumbull County Bar Association released its recommendations Thursday for judgeships in the county.

A committee of the Bar counted up the vote of its members earlier this week of the Judicial Preference Poll in connection to the upcoming contested races. Candidates who are unopposed are not voted on.

Christopher Becker, the first assistant prosecutor for Trumbull County, is the Bar’s preferred candidate for Trumbull County Common Pleas Court judge, receiving more than the requisite 66 2/3% of the votes cast by Bar Association members.

Becker is running against Attorney Sarah Thomas Kovoor for the six-year term commencing on January 3, 2025.

Attorney Kara Leonard Stanford is the preferred candidate for judge of the General Division and Domestic/Juvenile Court. Stanford also received more than the 66 2/3% votes needed.

Standford is running against David Engler for Judge Sandra Stabile Harwood’s seat. The term is also six years, commencing on January 3, 2025.
