STONEBORO, Pa. (WKBN) – Sharpsville notches an impressive road-win, 34-15, over Lakeview to improve to 5-1. The Blue Devils lone loss of the season was in week two when Greenville upended the Blue Devils (25-13).

The Sailors fall to an even 3-3 on the year after posting back-to-back wins to beginning the campaign.

On the second play of the game, Lakeview’s Leyton Zacherl teamed with Brayden Booher on a 34-yard pass play. However, four plays later, the Sailors failed to continue the drive as they turned the ball over on downs.

After taking over, Sharpsville began its opening possession of the game by running nine consecutive plays on the ground featuring Jaiden White’s 27-yard gainer, bringing the Blue Devils into Lakeview territory. On fourth down, Aidmen Cadman completed a 10-yard pass play to White to move the chains.

Four plays later, on fourth down again, Geno Currie powered his way into the endzone for the game’s opening score to put Sharpsville up 7-0 with 35 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

On the ensuing kick, the Sailors’ Booher returned the kickoff 65 yards.

Twenty-one seconds after Sharpsville’s drive culminated in a score, Lakeview posted its first score on a Zacherl 14-yard run to paydirt. Following a penalty on the kick, Blake Skiles ran in the two-point conversion to place Lakeview ahead 8-7.

Back comes Sharpsville — Currie ran in a 1-yard rushing touchdown to take the lead back at 14-8 with 4:21 left in the opening half.

Lakeview added on another score just before halftime as Zacherl’s 4-yard touchdown run capped off an 8-play drive.

Sharpsville received the second half kick as White finished the 5-play drive with a 15-yard touchdown run to retake the lead, 21-15.

After forcing Lakeview to turn the ball over on downs, Sharpsville adds on another touchdown. Currie runs in a 13-yard dash.

With 6:07 left in the game, Currie adds on his 4th touchdown of the night as he scored from 2-yards away to go up 34-15.

Sharpsville returns home to face Mercer next Friday. Lakeview will travel to Greenville to face the Trojans on Friday.
