Potts, Heffner excel as Southern offense explodes against East Palestine

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) – Southern Local entered Friday night with a 1-4 record and trailed 7-0 after the first quarter. But the offense found its groove for the first time in 2024 as they outscored East Palestine 44-14 the rest of the way en route to a 44-21 victory Friday night.

The Indians were led by Timmy Potts and Landon Heffner, who each had two rushing touchdowns apiece. Both players also converted a two-point conversion in the game.

Potts also added a passing touchdown in the victory.

Owen Jurjavcic added two touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

Southern (2-4) will host Columbiana in Week 7. East Palestine (3-3) will visit Wellsville .
