CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) — Cheerleaders got their day to shine yesterday in Campbell. Squads were invited to compete in team and individual events.

This is for the pee-wee league, grade-school cheerleaders, 13 and younger. There was no shortage of noise and school spirit.

Dean Congemi, president of the Eastern Ohio Youth Football League, said he made it his business to attend.

“Today is their Super Bowl,” Congemi said. “Where we honor the cheerleaders for their hard work and dedication. Bringing the parents together and the communities together to make one special day for these girls to compete.”

Medals and trophies were handed out, and look for these girls to be called up to the sidelines at local high school games in the future.
