An indictment was unsealed today in the U.S. Northern District Court of Ohio charging Christopher Scott, 35, of Warren, with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The indictment was issued Sept. 19 and unsealed Monday following Scott’s arrest. He is expected to be arraigned Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Carmen E, Henderson, according to court records.

The charge stems from a Dec. 20 arrest by Warren police who were answering a suspicious vehicle call at Parkman Road SE and Oak Street.

Scott was wearing an ankle monitor when police took him into custody. Inside the car he was driving, police said they found three semiautomatic handguns, crack cocaine, heroin and $250 cash.

Scott is not allowed to have a gun because of 2012 convictions of aggravated burglary and felonious assault in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
