    First place on the line in Friday’s Game of the Week

    BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – Massive Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Tier game is on the docket this Friday when Springfield visits Berlin Center to face the unbeaten Western Reserve Blue Devils.

    Sole possession of first place is on the line as the WKBN High School Football Game of the Week cameras will be out in full force.

    Game Notes
    -Springfield has won its last ten meetings with Western Reserve; the Tigers have outscored the Blue Devils by a combined score of 162-7 in its last five games against one another.

    -The Tigers opened the campaign by dropping two of its first three games against South Range (42-14) and Geneva (21-14). Since then, Springfield has won its last three contests.

    -Prior to its win last week at Jackson-Milton, 40-9. Springfield had lost its last four road games. Dante Gentile scored four touchdowns and ran for 271 yards in its victory over the Blue Jays.

    -Reserve notched its 6th win in as many weeks last Friday with its 36-14 victory over Campbell.

    -Western Reserve’s last win against Springfield came on September 18, 2015 – 9-7.

    -The Blue Devils have posted wins in 14 of its last 15 regular season games dating back to week two of last year. During that stretch, Reserve’s defense has stood tall as it has allowed just four opponents to score more than 14 points.

    -Western Reserve is 7-2 over its last nine home games.
