ALLIANCE, Ohio (WKBN) – For a second consecutive year, the Badger boys golf team is headed to the state tournament after a 3rd place finish at the Division III District Tournament.

It is also just the second time in school history the Braves have qualified for the state tournament in golf.

The Braves finished with a team total of 335 to secure a trip to state by six full strokes at Tannehauf Golf Club.

Senior Austin Mariani led the way with a 4th place finish individually after shooting a 76.

The team also consists of Ian Tricker, Tyler McWilliams, Brody Shay and Jacob Metz and is coached by Mark Mariani.

The Division III State Tournament will take place on Oct. 11-12 at North Star Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio.
