Local bridge to stay closed this weekend

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN)- The closure of the Newell Bridge in East Liverpool will continue throughout the weekend.

According to their Facebook page , the bridge was supposed to reopen today but setbacks have forced the closure to continue.

They say the work being done on the bridge has never been done before. The bridge was originally closed on September 17 and was supposed to last just a week.

They hope to have the bridge, which connects East Liverpool to Newell, West Virginia, reopened on Monday.
