GROVE CITY, Pa. (WKBN) – Sharon utilized a balanced offensive attack and a stout defense to post its 6th win of the year by topping Grove City, 35-0.

The Tigers have won five consecutive games.

Sharon had dropped its previous six meetings with Grove City; the last time that the Tigers came away with a win in the series was back in the 2019 District 10 3A championship contest (33-21).

Grove City has now fallen in its last three outings to drop to 3-4.

Sharon’s Ethan Engelmore closed out the first drive of the game by scoring from one yard out to culminate its 10-play, 79-yard possession. Engelmore found a trio of receivers (Brock Ondo, Ra’Keem Hughes, Logan Perks) for 14-plus yards to highlight the drive.

After a missed field goal by Grove City, Sharon answered quickly on an Engelmore 50-yard strike to Logan Perks to grab a 14-0 lead late in the first quarter.

With 2:46 remaining in the first half, Ike Friday took the handoff and powered his way into the endzone.

To begin the third quarter, after an Eagle punt, on the Tigers’ second play of the half – Terrian White dashed 37-yards to extend Sharon’s lead to 28-0.

The next time Sharon’s offense possessed the ball, Cassius Hosey took his first rush of the game 10-yards into the end zone to begin the running clock with 8:09 left in the third quarter.

The Tigers will be matched against Conneaut next Friday, while Grove City will meet Hickory on the road.
