    Man sentenced after guilty plea to gun charge

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A city man who pleaded guilty in May to a gun charge was sentenced Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to 65 days in the county jail with probation to follow.

    The sentence was given to Robert Miner, 32, who pleaded guilty on May 19 to a charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony.

    Miner was arrested in February f ollowing a traffic stop on the East Side.

    As police talked to him after he was pulled over for excessive window tint, reports said they could see the butt of a gun sticking out of his jacket pocket. He gave the gun, a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun, to police when they asked him to, reports said.
