Vittorio Petrillo, 26, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on a charge of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, a second-degree felony.

He is expected to be arraigned later Wednesday in municipal court.

Petrillo was arrested about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday after police were called to the 2800 block of Noel Avenue for a report of gunfire. When they arrived, a man there told police he knew Petrillo, who came to the house and banged on the door several times before firing a shot through a window before walking away.

Police saw security camera footage of Petrillo firing a shot, reports said. The bullet was also found in the broken window, reports said.

Petrillo was found walking a short distance away on DeCamp Road and taken into custody there. When he was searched police found a .38-caliber revolver, reports said.
