KINSMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A garage fire in Trumbull County left one man burned Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a home in the 5900 block of Orangeville Kinsman Rd. around 11:00 a.m.

A detached garage had caught on fire and the fire was spreading to the home.

Firefighters helped a woman escape the home — she was not hurt.

A man in the home was burned but his injuries are not life-threatening, firefighters said. He was taken to the hospital.

The garage is a total loss. There was some fire damage to the home’s living area, as well as smoke and water damage. The vinyl siding on another building outside was damaged, but the fire never spread to that building.

The couple is not able to stay in their home. The American Red Cross is providing support.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire appears to be accidental but it is still under investigation.
