    Suspect in string of car thefts pleads guilty to several charges

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man who is a suspect in a string of car thefts in 2023 pleaded guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to several charges.

    Marcus Bosworth, 20, pleaded guilty before Judge Maureen Sweeney to charges of arson, a second-degree felony; tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; two counts of failure to comply, a third-degree felony; escape, a third-degree felony; six counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; theft, a fifth-degree felony; and criminal damaging.

    In a separate case, Bosworth pleaded guilty to a separate charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle.

    Sentencing will take place following a presentence investigation. The attorneys in the case are recommending a sentence of three years in prison.

    Court records show several of the thefts and other crimes he is accused of took place in March 2023.

    Bosworth will remain in the Mahoning County Jail while awaiting sentencing.
