YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A sweater you no longer wear can be traded for a new, thrifty find at an event this weekend.

The Neighborhood is hosting a Swap-a-Palooza at Penguin City Sunday. It’s the second time the group has hosted the clothing swap that promotes sustainability.

It’s free to attend and those who’d like to participate are asked to bring up to 10 lightly used, lightly worn clothing items.

All leftover clothing will be donated to the Warren Family Mission.

“Only about 10% of donated clothing actually goes in the second-hand market. Most of them do go to landfills or go overseas. So, when looking for organizations to take this clothing, we were looking for places that have a need right now gearing up for the winter season,” said Alison Green, with The Neighborhood, LLC.

Swap-A-Palooza runs from noon to four p.m. on Sunday. It’ll take place in the back area of the brewery.
