POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — Hundreds of people participated in the second annual A.M. Wake Up Call Walk on Saturday morning.

The walk raises awareness surrounding the dangers of drugs and fentanyl. It’s scheduled early, but it’s a play on words. A.M. are the initials of Amanda McAuley, a victim of drug addiction and fentanyl overdose.

Amanda’s mother, Donna McAuley, created the Wake Up Call Walk to help future generations and everyone who has been impacted by drug overdose.

“Preventing kids from trying drugs today — because I said you try, you die, and kids need to learn something. So, they know and they don’t try, and addiction is horrible. It’s something we need to prevent,” Donna said.

The walk this year also raised funds for a play that’ll follow the life of Amanda McAuley and show the dangers of fentanyl.
