    Browns activate top draft pick in roster shuffle

    BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns made multiple roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game in Philadelphia.

    The team activated linebacker Mohamoud Diabate from the reserve/injured list.

    In addition, rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. was activated from the exempt/Commissioner permission list.

    Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst II was also activated from the reserve/injured list

    In addition, Browns placed tackle James Hudson III on on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Cleveland also terminated the contract of WR James Proche II.

    Safety Christopher Edmonds and wide receiver Jaelon Darden were elevated to the active roster from the practice squad.

    Diabate registered two tackles in the season opener. He was placed on injured reserve with a hip injury on Sept. 11 and was designated for return on Oct. 9.

    Hurst started the season opener at defensive tackle and recorded three tackles. He was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury on Sept. 11 and was designated for return on Oct. 9.

    Edmonds is an undrafted rookie out of Arizona State. He has spent the entire season on the Browns’ practice squad.

    Darden has appeared in 25 career games in the NFL, including four with the Browns. He primarily serves as a punt returner.

    The Browns and Eagles will kick off on Sunday at 1 p.m. on FOX Youngstown.
