Back the Blue event in Canfield to raise money for families of fallen police officers

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – A local effort to raise money for the families of fallen police officers will return to the Canfield Village Green this weekend.

This is the fifth time since 2020 that organizers have held Back the Blue, featuring music, food and entertainment for the whole family.

This year, proceeds from donations will be given to the families of three fallen officers to help brighten the holidays.

“Then we’re just hoping to grow. As I said before, we want to get big enough to have a scholarship and give one of those every year. So that’s what our ultimate goal is,” said Christine Oliver, Back the Blue organizer.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, starting with a motorcycle and classic car procession to the Green at 11:45 a.m. and running until 5 p.m.
