John G. Burns III, Canfield, Ohio

CANFIELD, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – John G. Burns III, 56, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown after a very courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 28, 1968, in Youngstown, the son of the late John and Barbara (Ehrhart) Burns II.

John worked for Surack Landscaping for a significant portion of his life and spent many years as a waste collector for Waste Management, however, the job that brought him the most joy and fulfillment, was as a home health care aide for special needs children at the Mahoning County Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD). John cherished this role and considered the children he worked with to be part of his family, nurturing them with love and compassion.

He was a proud graduate of Austintown Fitch High School .

John was known not only for his work ethic but also for his deep commitment to his family. He was an amazing father who enjoyed spending quality time with his children, Amanda Riebe, Roman Williams and Aaron Williams, Jr., embodying the spirit of a true family man. John loved engaging in household projects and sharing moments watching the Raiders with his sons, creating cherished memories that will be held dear by his family.

In addition to his role as a devoted husband and father, John leaves behind his beloved wife, the former Diana Riebe, whom he married on August 21, 1999, after a lifelong relationship that began when they were just 12 years old. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Burns and his nephew, Matthew Clements.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.

John will be remembered for his dependability and the many friendships he cultivated throughout his life. The legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that John imparted to those around him will continue to resonate within the hearts of his family and friends.
