LITHOPOLIS, Ohio (WCMH) — Investigators have found an abducted 2-month-old boy at the center of a statewide Amber Alert Tuesday, taking the suspected abductor into custody a few hours later.

Law enforcement reported that at 3:25 p.m. the suspect, 27-year-old Russell Burris, took the infant during a domestic dispute in Lithopolis. The pair were last seen leaving in a silver 2009 Honda Accord with the license plate KJC3489.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office said there were two other people — a 53-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man — in the car at the time Burris is accused of taking the child.

A spokeswoman for Columbus police confirmed to NBC4 at 5:38 p.m. that the missing infant had been dropped off in the area of Lachlan Landings Drive, a street north of Groveport and nearly a 20-minute drive from where they initially disappeared.

The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office updated its social media post saying Burris was taken into custody.

Law enforcement noted they had reason to suspect the infant was in danger at the time of the abduction.
