SHARPSVILLE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Yvonne “Vonnie” Jean Miller, 85, of Sharpsville passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024 in Grove Manor Nursing Home Grove City, Pennsylvania.
Vonnie was born June 25, 1939 to Margaret (Daugherty) and Harry Lamont Montgomery in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
Find obituaries from your high school She was a graduate of Grove City High School before continuing her education at the Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Registered Nurse degree.
Vonnie worked for UPMC Farrell as an RN and also worked over 20 years at the South Py Market as a manager.
On July 2, 1960 she married her husband, the late Wendell I. Miller who passed away October 17, 2022.
She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Hubbard, Ohio. Vonnie was active in multiple churches, volunteering to cook for bereavement dinners and singing in the choir.
She helped numerous local families by babysitting and being a caregiver to their family members. Vonnie also sold 1,000s of her homemade cookies for every occasion. She enjoyed crocheting and would do so for all special occasions.
Vonnie is survived by her daughter, Darlene Marie (John) Taylor of Sharpsville, sons, Darrin (Susan) Miller of Mercer, Mark Miller of Bentonville, Virginia, grandchildren, Brock and Lynsey Taylor, Darby, Peyton, and Morgan Miller, Marcus Miller, and great-grandchild, James Robb, III.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wendell Miller, brother, Jack D. Montgomery, sisters, Barbara A. Monks, and Shirley A. Montgomery.
Friends may call Thursday October 17, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home 124 W. Main St. Sharpsville, PA 16150.
A graveside service will be held Friday October 18, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends are welcome to meet directly at the cemetery.
