    Mary “Squeaky” Tufaro, Youngstown, Ohio

    YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Mary “Squeaky” Tufaro 73, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully while in hospice care at her daughter’s residence on Saturday, October 12, 2024 surrounded by her daughter and son-in-law after losing her courageous battle to stage four kidney cancer.

    Mary was born January 26, 1951 to Armond and Rosemarie (Babe) Colantuoni.

    She was the oldest of three children and a graduate of Chaney High School class of 1969.

    She met her husband Joe and they married on August 24, 1991. The apple of her eye was their daughter Dena.

    She worked as a receptionist at Fab Art Inc and then for Dr. Andrew Babinec DDS until her retirement.

    She was member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica and volunteered at the monthly spaghetti dinners until her diagnosis. She was also member of Sunrise Chapter #458.

    She loved to dance, listen to music, and had an infectious laugh and smile. She also loved making Easter Bread, eggplant parmesan, and baking Christmas cookies.

    Mary leaves behind her husband of 33 years Joseph, daughter Dena (Mark) Caughey of New Castle, Pennsylvania, sister Carla Rosales, brother Anthony Colantuoni both of Austintown, brother-in-law Danny (Irene) Tufaro of Poland, sisters-in-law Patty Frease of Liberty, Linda Tufaro of Poland, and Donna Colantuoni of Hubbard along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her parents Armond and Rosemarie (Babe) Colantuoni, uncles, aunts, grandparents, mother and father-in-law, and brother-in-law.

    Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday October 18, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Rossi Santucci Funeral Home 4221 Market St, Boardman.

    On Saturday morning, October 19, 2024 the Eastern Star Prayer Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. and closing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. both at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev, Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio as celebrant.

    Burial with Rite of Committal will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield Niles Rd., Canfield, and family and friends are welcome to attend.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Mary to Mahoning Co. St Vincent de Paul Society. Contributions can be mailed to Mahoning Co St Vincent de Paul Society c/o Edward McCarragher, Treasurer PO Box 224 Youngstown, Ohio 44501-0224.

    The family would like to thank Alleghany Health Network Hospice for their wonderful care and support during this time.
