    William Edward Surrena, Leavittsburg, Ohio

    LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – William Edward Surrena, 93, formerly of Leavittsburg, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Sprenger Health Care Grande Village.

    He was born June 6, 1931, in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Simeon Edward and Marguerite Lytle Surrena.

    William retired as an assembler at General Motors Lordstown after 30 years of service.

    He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from April 24, 1952, until March 18, 1954, receiving the following: National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

    He enjoyed gardening vegetables, walking at the park and the mall, a good dessert, and tinkering in his garage.

    He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Frank) Monachino of Twinsburg, OH; daughter-in-law Sherry Surrena of Leavittsburg, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah (Nick) Popczun of Dublin, Virginia, Tony (Jessica) Surrena of Niles, Ohio, Frank (Deanna) Monachino of Twinsburg, Ohio, and Ashley Monachino of Twinsburg, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Theodore and Jane Popczun of Dublin, VA, and Frankie Monachino of Twinsburg, Ohio.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Viola Salway Surrena; son, Allen Surrena; and sisters, Juanita Surrena and Marion Stevens.

    Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home .

    Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the funeral home.

    Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery, Warren Township, Ohio.

    Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

    A television tribute will air Thursday, October 17 at the following approximate times: 5:17 a.m. on WKBN, 8:39 a.m. on FOX, 5:21 p.m. on WYTV and 6:35 p.m. on MyYTV. Video will be posted here the day of airing.
