    Springfield wins sixth straight game in victory over McDonald

    NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Springfield won their sixth straight game Friday by downing visiting McDonald 40-0.

    The Tigers (7-2) jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter on a Dante Gentile touchdown run and two-point conversion by Kasen Kosek.

    Carson Cunningham hauled in a pass by Brayden Baird to make the score 15-0.

    Gentile scored on a 50-yard run at the 9:32 mark of the second quarter to give the Tigers a 21-0 lead, then Cunningham ran from 23 yards out with 7:42 in the third quarter to increase the lead to 28-0.

    Springfield tacked on touchdowns by Joey Centofante in the third quarter and Eli Womer in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.

    McDonald (6-2) will host Mineral Ridge in Week 10. Springfield will host Lowellville .
