    Martin Allan Marinoff, Hermitage, PA

    HERMITAGE, Pennsylvania (MyValleyTributes) – Martin Allan “Marty” Marinoff, 75, of Hermitage, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in his home.

    Marty (Allan) was born on January 8, 1949, in Sharon, a son of the late Martin Alexander and Katherine (Virgallito) Marinoff.

    He was a 1966 graduate of Sharon High School and studied electronics at DeVry Technical Institute, Lisle, ILL.

    A proud veteran, Marty served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

    He was an operations manager at Allied Signal in conjunction with NASA and the Space Shuttle Program. He later set up the tracking systems for NASA, used in White Sands, New Mexico. Marty also retired from MRDD, Akron, Ohio, as a network administrator.

    An intelligent man, he loved trivia, working on crossword puzzles and talking about history. He was jokingly referred to as “a vast warehouse of useless knowledge.” He was also a talented woodworker and enjoyed tinkering on computers. Additionally, Marty was a fan of oldies music and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    He is survived by his wife, Diane (Ghost) Marinoff, whom he married on October 20, 1979; six daughters, Martie-Jo Brooks (David), Cleveland, Georgia, Christina Marinoff (Brandon Gibson), twins Stephane and Michelle Marinoff, Melissa (Marinoff) Ferguson, and Cyndi Marinoff (Todd Smith), all of Hermitage; two sons, Robert Marinoff-Gary (Jenn), Springfield, Missouri, and Ryan Marinoff, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Cathy (Larry) Brant, Titusville, Florida; 17 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by grandchildren, Damon Marinoff and Justin Gary.

    The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Family Promise of White and Haversham, PO Box 905, Cleveland, GA 30528.

    Calling hours will be noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024 in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. , 1090 East State St., Sharon.

    Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Anthony Kladitis, officiating.

    A television tribute will air Sunday, October 20 at the following approximate times: 8:58 a.m. on FOX and 9:58 p.m. on MyYTV. Video will be posted here the day of airing.
